Bursaries, grants and loans



The Peter HInkley Trust was set up by Harrow Young Musicians and provides scholarships to help students in Harrow under the age of 21, to pay for tuition and HYM fees.

Amber Trust logo
The Amber Trust was set up to help all blind and partially sighted children – including those with additional disabilities – to access and enjoy music. The Trust’s Music Awards can be used to fund:

  • Music lessons
  • Music therapy sessions
  • The purchase of musical instruments
  • The purchase of specialist software or other technology
  • The purchase of concert tickets
  • Travel to attend musical events

Take it away
If you want to buy an instrument but can’t afford the finance, Take It Away aims to make musical instruments more accessible to children and young people by providing interest-free loans of up to £5,000 funded by Arts Council England. For more information, please visit the Take It Away website.
